“What makes Shelford so special is that every single girl is given the chance to get involved, whether it be School sports, House events or musicals.” Ruby (Student)
“What makes Shelford so special is that every single girl is given the chance to get involved, whether it be School sports, House events or musicals.”
There aren’t many schools where you are able to participate in everything. I believe that the small, close-knit community is what makes our school so amazing; being friends with everyone in every year level, with all teachers knowing who you are is what makes the school so homely and makes you really feel comfortable.
“At Shelford I learned to dream big and work hard to achieve my goals. I was taught to be inquisitive and seek out answers. I think that is a large part of why I have such an interest in science and research.” Zoe (Shelfordian)
Zoe (2006) has received numerous awards for her research and community contributions. After developing a love of science and a commitment to the community at Shelford, Zoe received a scholarship to study medicine at Monash University where she developed a keen interest in women’s health and she completed research in this area. Zoe was elected the Australian Youth Representative and a Regional Councillor for the International Planned Parenthood Federation and has spoken at numerous international conferences including the UN Commission on Population and Development in New York. Zoe was awarded a Gates Cambridge Scholarship to complete a PhD at the University of Cambridge, conducting world-first trials of the artificial pancreas in pregnant women with diabetes.

“I am mindful of the debt of gratitude I owe to the excellent education... Values of service, fairness, discipline and excellence informed my school years.” Diane (Shelfordian)
Diane is the founder of Anam Cara House in Geelong and Colac, residential palliative care hospices that provide support and respite for the terminally ill and their families. It took 12 years, and the raising of millions of dollars, to realise Diane’s vision for these wonderful facilities. Diane was made a Paul Harris Fellow, given an Outstanding Woman Achievement Award by Zonta International, nominated for a Dame Phyllis Frost Award by The Victorian Council of Women and included on the QV Women’s Centre Shilling Wall. In 2013 Diane was admitted to The Victorian Honour Roll for Women. Diane continues her counselling work and serves on many Boards and committees. She has very happy memories of Shelford where the values of service, fairness, discipline and excellence had a strong influence on her life.
"Shelford is the best school I've ever had any dealings with. Every member of staff is friendly, kind and helpful. They are all passionate about learning... " Dayle (Parent)

Shelford is the best school I've ever had any dealings with. Every member of staff is friendly, kind and helpful. They are all passionate about learning and truly care about creating a positive school experience.
Unlike some schools, where the business side of fees is their top priority, Shelford is all about education and your child's best learning outcome. As a small school Shelford is outstanding, genuinely loved by the students and parents alike.
Shelford doesn't have awe inspiring facilities, yet produces champions. It doesn't have high tech arts facilities, yet students excel in the arts and creative pursuits. Shelford isn't big or grand, yet has a reputation of producing high achievers. Maybe it's the very lack of all the stuff, that lets the girls be girls... and in that safe space, there is wisdom and caring and room to learn. Shelford is the school that lets your daughter find her passion and showcase herself.
Shelford suits girls who are fun, kind and thoughtful. Girls who want to try their best and then with the right sort of encouragement, they try a bit harder, to see how far that can take them. A Shelford girl will create a lifetime of happy memories at school and in the process, also strive for outstanding personal achievement.
