Shelford is offering a range of scholarships for Senior and Junior School students in 2023.
Applications and examinations
Applications close: Monday 4 October 2021, 3pm.
Examination date: Saturday 9 October 2021 (for Senior School applicants only). The examinations will be HELD ONLINE (details below).
The scholarship examinations are run through Academic Assessment Services (AAS).
Due to the ongoing COVID-19 restrictions, our examinations for Senior School Scholarships will be held online on Saturday 9 October. When registrations close at 3pm on Monday 4 October 2021, applicants will be sent an email from firstname.lastname@example.org with more information and login details.
We suggest you check your junk/spam folder for the login details if you do not receive the communication on this date.
Students will need to complete a 10 minute practice test by Thursday 7 October 2021.
AAS cannot allow a student to sit the online examination on Saturday 9 October 2021, unless they complete the short practice test by the due date.

Senior School scholarships
Shelford is offering the following scholarships to students entering Years 7, 9, 10 or 11 in 2023:
- Academic Scholarships
- General Excellence Awards
- Music Scholarships
These Senior School scholarships provide remission of a portion of tuition fees throughout a student’s secondary education and are subject to satisfactory progress.
Academic Scholarships are awarded on the performance of the student in the scholarship examination. Short-listed candidates will be interviewed by the Principal or a senior staff member.
General Excellence Awards
These Awards are offered as part of Shelford’s intention to attract students who understand and embrace the School’s values and to develop students as leaders and responsible global citizens. General Excellence Awards are also available to current students who have demonstrated leadership at school, in their local community and/or through participation in a variety of co-curricular activities. Applicants are required to sit the scholarship examination and submit a portfolio. Short-listed applicants will be interviewed by the Principal or a senior staff member.
Music Scholarships are awarded on the performance of the student in the scholarship examination and an audition with the Head of Music at a later date (applicants will be contacted by the Music Department for an audition date).
Junior School scholarships
Shelford is offering the following scholarships in the Junior School:
- General Excellence Awards (Years 3, 4, 5 or 6 in 2023)
- Music Scholarships (Year 5 in 2023)
These Junior School Scholarships provide remission of a portion of tuition fees throughout a student’s junior and secondary education and are subject to satisfactory progress.
General Excellence Awards (Years 3, 4, 5 or 6 in 2023)
These Awards are offered on the basis of their application and an interview with the Principal or a senior staff member. Junior school applicants are not required to sit the exam.
Music Scholarships (Year 5 in 2023)
Junior School Music Scholarships are awarded on the basis of an audition with the Head of Music and an interview with the Principal or a senior staff member. Scholarship candidates should have attained a minimum of AMEB Grade 3 (or equivalent). Applicants must complete both the:
- Junior School General Excellence Awards application
- Junior School Music Scholarships application.
