A Bequest is a Gift for the Future
The benefits of a Shelford education have been enjoyed by generations of Shelford students, due to the support of previous and current members of the School community.
From time to time the School is informed that it had been left a generous bequest by a Shelfordian who has wished to demonstrate her allegiance and gratitude to the School for its impact on her life.
One of these bequests was given by Ruth Valerie (Val) Edwards (1948) who bequeathed a percentage of her estate to Shelford. Val had been a member of the Shelford Vintage Old Girls’ group and had enjoyed a a lifelong association with the School.
We ask Shelfordians and Past Parents to consider including Shelford in their Will. Shelford is not a wealthy school. The majority of its income is spent on recurrent costs such as salaries and daily running expenses. Bequests of all sizes are vital for Shelford’s ongoing financial security so that it can continue to fulfil its vision for the education of girls.
